Child Inspired Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of orphans in Tanzania. We provide an environment in which children can exercise mental excellence, and a platform on which to unveil professional skills and natural gifts.
The organisation exists to restore and protect the affairs concerning the growth and development of orphans, providing holistic support in education and healthcare. We focus on activities that achieve a real difference, use evidence of results to improve performance, make good use of resources, and remain ambitious about solving the problems facing these communities.
How we began
Our founder, Helena Pascal, hails from a humble background — born into a family of fishermen in the rural town of Nyumba ya Mungu, in the Manyara region. Her early years were marred by tragedy: she lost her mother to illness at the tender age of four, followed by the passing of her father when she was eight.
As a young girl in the third grade, she was compelled to relocate to Moshi, where her grandmother resided. Living with her grandmother proved to be an arduous and distressing experience. In the darkness of night she fled that house and sought refuge with her aunt in the next village, who then facilitated her transfer to the nearest orphanage, Newland Orphanage Home.
At the age of eight she became a member of the Newland Orphanage family, where she received nurturing and flourished academically and personally. It was during this transformative period, following a challenging past, that she discovered her calling to improve the lives of children lacking parental care. Motivated by her own experience, she pledged to establish a sanctuary where parentless children could find solace and support.

Our mission
Child Inspired Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned children in Tanzania by providing them with holistic support in education and healthcare. We strive to empower these children to reach their full potential, ensuring they have the necessary tools and opportunities to thrive.
Our mission carries the responsibility to deliver material, intellectual and psychosocial support to marginalised youths and children living in orphanage homes, in order to recover identities and accelerate purpose. We pursue it through family-based and institutional-based care, behavioural and emotional interventions, and educational programming for orphaned children affected by different circumstances.
