MIMI na DARASA is an initiative aimed at supporting the education and skills development of orphans. It focuses on providing comprehensive academic assistance and skill-building opportunities to orphans who lack adequate support systems.
The programme goes beyond basic academic support to offer a comprehensive range of resources and opportunities. A child who has lost their parents has usually also lost the person who would have sat with them over homework, asked about their results, or talked through what to do after school. MIMI na DARASA puts that person back in the room.
What the programme includes
One-on-one academic mentorship and guidance
Each child is paired with a mentor who follows their progress through the school year, not just at exam time.
Career guidance and vocational training
Practical direction on what comes after school, and the training to get there — whether that is further study or a trade.
Enrichment workshops and seminars
Covering leadership development, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, digital skills and personal development — fostering a well-rounded education rather than one narrowed to the syllabus.
